Stardust
If you've ever seen the movie Before Sunrise, there's this on part where an old woman is wandering and tells the couple that in the beginning of time little particles were swirling about and crashed together to make everything in the universe so in a way we are all made up of stardust. I've always liked that idea. Looking up in the night sky is probably the closest thing to heaven that I will ever see in my life, and it's nice to think that there a piece of heaven within us.
Last night I checked out the visitor night and the UCI observatory. It was really really cool. There weren't as many people as the last time, probably because it's summer. There was a small slide show, and it was soooooo cool watching all these little future astronomers and astronauts shout out random facts about the solar system. All sorts of telescopes were out and I was able to see all sorts of nebulae, star clusters, and even a double star. Praise God for giving us the gift of sight, and allowing us to see beautiful things in the sky.
