Beads

I've been obsessed with beads for awhile. Not sure when it started, but I can pinpoint when it became an obsession. It was freshman year of high school, and raves was at the height of its popularity. All the cool people went to raves and carried glow sticks or those blinking light thingys everywhere and would bust their figure eights and butterflies. I never went to a rave in high school, because my parents were really protective and there was no way they would ever let me stay out all night like that. But even though I never went to raves, I will still drawn to them. Why? Welps, it wasn't because I like trance. Trance is okae sometimes, but I can only listen to it for so long before it gets repetitive. Nope, it wasn't trance, the glow sticks, the pacifiers, or all the candy walking. It was the massive amounts of candy colored bracelets and necklaces being passed around. After a friend gave me my first bracelet, I was hooked and started making them like crazy. For my birthday, my bf at the time didn't buy me flowers or jewelry. He knew the way to my heart and so he gave me a bead set. Yup, it was that bad. It was in a clear case with different compartments so that I could separate my glow in the dark beads from the translucent beads. There was even a place to keep my string. By the end of high school I had a bucket of bracelets and necklaces, different colors for different outfits. In college I met my bead soulmate, Quyen. She liked beads too, and freshman year we would chill in the living room of our floor and make bracelets. She also introduced me to seed beads, and elevated my bead interest to a bead obsession. From then on, I started making litte toe rings, beaded bobby pins, flowers, all sorts of cool stuff.

Even though my beading obsession has grown, it's had no focus, no sense of direction for me to channel it to. Until now. God works in mysterious ways, and He mysteriously gave me idea. Rosaries are made of beads. I love the Rosary, and I love beads. Therefore...I should make Rosaries. Yup, leave it to God to find a use for my obsession with beads.
